October 1st marks the 45th anniversary of the release of the album titled Crystal Ball by the rock group Styx. The title song holds particular meaning to Jack Aitken, the main character of Route 666. Buckling under the weight of a series of life-altering events, Jack watches the dreams he had for his family and himself die one after the other.
Sure that everything happens for a reason, Jack struggles to understand the higher purpose behind his family’s challenges and figuratively wishes for a “crystal ball” to find out what the future holds, hoping to see that the fortunes of his family and himself will change.
What about you? Have you ever wished to know what tomorrow would bring or, like Jack Aitken, are you afraid of what you might find out?
